SKIN PRICK TEST

A prick test is a simple scratch test, the most common and standardized method. After cleaning the skin with alcohol and allowing it to dry, test sites are marked with a pen at least 2 centimetres apart. Drops of the allergen are placed on these sites, and a pricker is used to perform the test.”

In the skin patch test, the doctor places a patch that’s covered with a variety of common allergens onto your back and tapes it in place. After 2 days, the doctor checks your skin for reactions. Then, they’ll have you come back 2 days later to look for delayed reactions to perform the test.

PULMONARY FUNCTION TEST

If you have warning signs or risk factors for a lung disease such as asthma, we will order spirometry, among other tests, to check how well your lungs are working. PFTs will also be ordered to diagnose and monitor your diagnosed lung disease, guide treatment options, and check how well your lungs respond to treatments.

Patients receive allergy shots when trying to treat allergic conditions affecting the nose, throat, eyes, ears, and lungs. They are effective for heading off reactions to many allergens, including trees, grasses, weeds, molds, dust mites, and animal dander.
