Poaceae or Gramineae or wheat family or grass family is a family of plants that are sometimes called grass. Some members of this large family of plants or grasses are important sources of allergens caused by pollen.
This family is the fifth largest plant family with 780 genera and about 12,000 species. Different species of this family have spread all over the world, and in Iran, many species of the grass family (Poaceae) grow abundantly in different pastures and fields. It is worth mentioning that the wheat family or chamanian family is considered as the most important plant family in the country’s economy (as edible seeds, grains and fodder).
