Prevention of Nasal Allergies

To control nasal allergy symptoms

  1. Avoid contact with allergens that cause symptoms as much as possible.
  2. Avoid environments full of cigarette smoke or environments with sudden temperature changes.
  3. Rinsing the nose with water and medicinal salt is a health measure that helps to remove accumulated mucus and allergens in the upper airways and reduces irritation and dryness.
  4. When avoiding existing allergens is not possible, use a mask to cover your nose and mouth.
  5. Follow your doctor’s advice about your treatment: some medications should be taken as needed, while others should be taken regularly over a long period of time.
  6. If you have to drive or operate dangerous machinery, make sure you are prescribed a non-drowsy antihistamine.
  7. If the eye symptoms bother you, you can use eye drops and artificial tears or normal saline serum, and if the eye symptoms are severe, protect your eyes with glasses.
  8. In all types of rhinitis, rinsing the nose with salt water significantly prevents symptoms.
