- Viral rhinitis
It rises gradually in the first 3 days, decreases within the next 3 days, and disappears up to 3 days later, so the duration of the period is not more than 4 days to 10 days.
Only 2% of colds become bacterial sinus infections
- Viral rhinosinusitis
In the case of viral infection of the sinuses, the entire period lasts for a maximum of 14 days, the first 4 days peak, the next 4 days decrease, and the last 4 days it gradually disappears.
If it goes more or more severe and takes another course, we should think about acute bacterial infection.
Chronic rhinosinusitis
If it reaches more than 12 weeks, it is already CRS and has 4 outstanding clinical symptoms
Sinus and nasal congestion
Chronic discharge from the front and back of the nose
Pain and fullness in the face (maxilla), middle face (ethmoid) and forehead (frontal sinus) and headache (sphenoid)
and disturbance in smell.
Exposure to severe rhinitis
- Mild and occasional rhinitis
Nasal antihistamine or oral PRN for non-obstructives
ANS or combination of decongestant antihistamine or nasal antihistamine, but preferably with regular nasal corticosteroids, but for a few days
- Chronic moderate rhinitis
ANS is the first line, especially if it is about obstruction or eosinophil
If eye problems, PRN eye antihistamine or regular
If the nasal and sinus problems are more frequent, add antihistamines to the nasal ANS and severe rhinorrhea and add Atronet.
