What are allergens at home?

Do you know what triggers allergies at home?
In this article, we briefly describe the important aspects of these allergens for you.
Dusting household items and sweeping
Dusting household items with a dry cloth and sweeping with a hand broom causes dust to spread in the air. Therefore, always use a damp cloth for dusting.
Also, clean the house with a vacuum cleaner.
Air dust and allergy
bed should not be placed near the air vents, because the air that wants to go out through these vents contains dust.
The heater (in the cold) heats the air in the house too much and as a result the air becomes heavy.
If you use a heater at home, you should use air purifiers or fumigators to prevent the spread of dust.
Consult your doctor about air purifiers.
Pollination of plants and allergies
Plants and trees pollinate in the early hours of the morning and evening.
It is very important to close the doors and windows during these times to prevent pollen from entering the house.
Close the windows when the pollen count is high and the wind is blowing.
In the morning, when you want to sleep, close the windows.
Bedding and Allergies
Allergens are placed in pillows, mattresses and quilts.
So you have to fasten them with adhesive tape and prevent them from coming out.
Do not pile extra items under your bed, as this will increase allergies.
Furniture and Allergies
When buying furniture, it is better to buy furniture with wood, leather, vinyl, or furniture with plastic fabric.
If you are going to use a rumbly, buy a washable variety, as rumbly can easily collect allergens.
Curtains and Allergies
Use washable cotton or plastic curtains for your windows.
Avoid short curtains, cracks (shutters and drapes) and pleated curtains, because these curtains increase allergies in your home.
Pillows and allergies
, use fabric with synthetic fibers for pillows.
Avoid feather or sponge pillows, because these pillows can store moisture and cause fungus to grow and also cause dust to spread.
Carpets and Allergies
New carpets spread chemical odors and old carpets spread allergens.
Place your rugs in well-ventilated areas of the home.
When moving the carpet and dropping or picking it up from the floor, open the doors and windows so that the air in the house changes and the tiny dust particles in the air go out.
In such cases, it is better for people with allergies to leave the house.
Some of these harmful chemical compounds inside the house are:
carbon monoxide (resulting from the combustion of fossil fuels),
asbestos (used in some building materials and household appliances),
lead (found in many household appliances and building materials such as water pipes)
construction paints) or radon gas (found in construction materials)
other volatile organic compounds that may be present in the home environment include:
organic compounds in insecticides,
chemical aerosol sprays (diffusion and dispersion of solid particulates and or liquid in a specific gaseous phase or in the air is called aerosol)
materials used in copiers and printers,
anti-mistake varnishes,
compounds for the appearance of photos, or various types of markers, especially markers used for marking in books.

Important recommendations to reduce breathing and exposure to volatile organic compounds indoors

1- Increasing air conditioning when products containing volatile chemical compounds are used.

2- Be sure to read the label on the container before using products containing volatile chemical compounds and take the precautions stated by the product manufacturer seriously!

3- Never store containers containing volatile chemical compounds (such as building paints) with the door open inside the house!
